Tec certification of communication equipment in India

In 2017, the Bureau of telecommunications of India (DOT) proposed in Indian communication regulations that all communication equipment must obtain compulsory certification before they can be sold, imported and used. Although the regulation has been extended, Indian officials issued a notice in July 2019 that TEC certification will be enforced from September 1, 2019.

Government management department:

Tec certification is in the charge of the Telecommunications Engineering Center (TEC) of the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) under the Ministry of transport (MOT). The full name of the certification is mandatory testing and certification of telecommunications equipment (MT & CTE), commonly known as Tec certification.

Certification scope and certification mode:

At present, according to different products, TEC divides the products into special certification mode SCS products and general certification mode GCS products, as follows:

SCS special certification mode products include:

-POS machine with public network interface / CDMA / GSM / GPRS;

-Access the telephone with SMS function in the public network;

-Video telephone;

-Electroscope for postal inspection (charging indicator)

-Modem,

-Pay phone

-Cordless telephone

-Coin operated public telephone

-Various terminals connected to the public network

-Administrative telephone system

-Conference facilities and equipmenT

-Push button telephone system

-Extension jack unit (elju)

-Voice band data modem (V.21 to V.34)

-User service unit for call line identification demonstration (SSU for clip)

-Electronic telephone instrument

-Dual function mobile phone

-Fax machine / card
