Overview | The IRAM Safety Mark is Argentina's mandatory (except exempted product) certification mark. The 92/98 resolution adopted by Argentina in 1998 (Resolution 92/98) established the certification system as mandatory. From December 31, 2002, all controlled products must be evaluated by accredited certification bodies of the Argentina Accreditation Organization (OAA). Does the nuclear meet the relevant standards? Manufacturers can attach Argentinian S-marks to products that comply with standards. Product evaluations are performed according to IEC standards plus Argentine differences or Argentine standards. In fact, the formulation of the IRAM standard has adopted most of the provisions of the IEC standard. The 92/98 resolution was implemented in several phases. Since December 1, 2003, mandatory safety requirements have been gradually set for different types of products. |
